Voltas Ltd. reports a 51% surge in Q1 FY27 net profit to Rs 212.8 crore, driven by strong Room Air Conditioner sales. Revenue up 18.65%.
New Delhi, Aug 14 (PTI) Voltas Ltd on Friday reported a 51.3 per cent increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 212.76 crore in the first quarter of the current fiscal, led by a strong performance in the room air conditioners segment.

The leading air-conditioning maker and engineering services provider had posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 140.61 crore in the April-June period a year ago, according to a regulatory filing.

Revenue from operations stood at Rs 4,673.5 crore in the June quarter of FY27, up 18.65 per cent from Rs 3,938.58 crore in the year-ago quarter.

"Voltas delivered a strong performance in Q1 FY27, significantly outperforming competition in Room Air Conditioners and further strengthening its market leadership," the company said in its earnings statement.

Voltbek Home Appliances, a JV between Voltas and Turkish firm Arcelik, registered its "highest ever quarterly sales in both value and volume", the company said. The Projects and Engineering businesses provided resilience and balance to the diversified portfolio, it added.

In the June quarter, Voltas' revenue from "unitary cooling products", which includes room AC business, stood 32.27 per cent higher at Rs 3,793.51 crore, compared to Rs 2,867.86 crore in Q1 FY26.

This was led by the Room Air Conditioner (RAC) business, which reported a 45 per cent YoY volume growth, according to the company.

"Voltas strengthened its leadership with a 17.3 per cent secondary market share for FY27 till June 2026, while widening its lead over the nearest competitor to 4 percentage points in Q1. The performance was driven by a combination of sustained brand investments, differentiated products, sharper product management, expanding channel reach and strong manufacturing and supply chain execution," the Tata Group firm said.

Moreover, segment margins also improved significantly YoY despite commodity inflation and currency depreciation, the company said.

"These pressures were partially mitigated by progressive price increases and benefits of the Company's cost optimisation initiatives, including strategic sourcing, deeper localisation, product design improvements and manufacturing efficiencies," it said. Voltbek business achieved a year-to-date market share of 9.4 per cent in Washing Machines and 7.4 per cent in Refrigerators.

However, revenue from Electro-Mechanical Projects and Services was down 27.12 per cent to Rs 671.81 crore in the first quarter of FY27.

Its Domestic Projects business maintained strong order momentum during Q1 FY27, securing strategic wins.

However, in the International Projects segment, Voltas continued to effectively manage risks arising from the geopolitical environment while ensuring continuity across key projects and customer engagements. New order booking remained delayed following the impact of the conflict in West Asia.

As of June 30, 2026, the carry forward order book for the segment stood at over Rs 6,345 crore.

Its revenue from Engineering Products and Services was up 17.3 per cent to Rs 158.85 crore.

"The Mining and Construction Equipment Division delivered impressive growth, supported by sustained demand for Crushing and Screening equipment, continued Operations and Maintenance contracts and stable performance from Mozambique," it said.

The company's total expenses stood at Rs 4,442.04 crore, up 17.14 per cent YoY in the quarter under review.

Commenting on the performance, Managing Director Mukundan Menon C P said, "Q1 FY27 has been a defining quarter for Voltas, reflecting the strength of its brands, the resilience of the business model, and the effectiveness of its long-term strategy. Achieving the landmark milestone of selling 1 million Room Air Conditioners in just 81 days is a clear validation of the trust consumers place in the Voltas brand, reinforcing its undisputed leadership in the cooling products market."

Voltas shares settled at Rs 1,325 apiece, up 2.82 per cent, on the BSE.
