Zinc prices fell 1.21% on Wednesday to Rs 270.55 per kg in futures trade, driven by weak demand from consuming industries and speculator reduction of positions.
New Delhi, Jan 15 (PTI) Zinc prices on Wednesday fell 1.21 per cent to Rs 270.55 per kilogram in futures trade as speculators reduced their exposure, tracking negative cues from the spot market.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for February delivery traded Rs 3.30 or 1.21 per cent lower at Rs 270.55 per kg in 1,098 lots.
Analysts said the trimming of positions by participants owing to slackened demand from consuming industries in the physical market mainly weighed on zinc prices.
