Zinc Futures Rise: Demand Boosts Prices

New Delhi, Dec 26 (PTI) Zinc prices on Friday rose Rs 4.65 to Rs 307.95 per kilogram in futures trade amid a pick-up in spot demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), zinc contracts for December delivery went up by Rs 4.65, or 1.53 per cent, to Rs 307.95 in a business turnover of 738 lots.
Similarly, the January contract for Zinc rose Rs 6.35, or 2.08 per cent, to Rs 311.40 per kg with a business turnover of 4,825 lots on the MCX.
Marketmen said the widening of positions by participants, following a pick-up in demand from consuming industries, kept zinc prices higher in the futures trade.
