Zinc Futures Rise on Demand

Zinc prices rise in futures trade due to spot demand. September contracts up on MCX. Marketmen cite increased demand from industries.
New Delhi, Aug 8 (PTI) Zinc prices on Friday rose 90 paise to Rs 270.35 per kilogram in futures trade amid a pick-up in spot demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for September delivery traded higher 90 paise or 0.33 per cent at Rs 270.35 per kg with a business turnover of 5,118 lots.
Marketmen said the widening of positions by participants, following a pick-up in demand from consuming industries kept zinc prices higher in the futures trade.
