Zinc Futures Rise on Demand

Zinc futures climb on spot demand. September contracts up 0.17% at Rs 267.10/kg. Marketmen cite increased demand from consuming industries.
New Delhi, Aug 21 (PTI) Zinc prices on Thursday rose 45 paise to Rs 267.10 per kilogram in futures trade amid a pick-up in spot demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for September delivery traded higher 45 paise or 0.17 per cent at Rs 267.10 per kg with a business turnover of 1,477 lots.
Marketmen said the widening of positions by participants, following a pick-up in demand from consuming industries kept zinc prices higher in the futures trade.
