Zinc Futures Rise on Demand

New Delhi, Jan 5 (PTI) Zinc prices on Monday rose Rs 2.65 to Rs 309.25 per kg in futures trade amid a pick-up in spot demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for January delivery traded higher by Rs 2.65, or 0.86 per cent, to Rs 309.25 per kilogram in a business turnover of 5,392 lots.
Marketmen said the widening of positions by participants, following a pick up in demand from consuming industries, kept zinc prices higher in the futures trade.
In the international market, Zinc futures on the London Metals Exchange (LME) rose by USD 43.50, or 1.39 per cent, to USD 3,173.60 per 25 metric tonnes.
