Zinc Futures Rise on High Demand in India

Zinc prices rose on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) on January 10, driven by increased demand from consuming industries. February contracts traded higher by Rs 1.05.
New Delhi, Jan 10 (PTI) Zinc prices on Friday rose Rs 1.05 to Rs 272.90 per kilogram in the futures trade amid a pick-up in spot demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for February delivery traded higher by Rs 1.05 or 0.39 per cent at Rs 272.90 per kg with a business turnover of 764 lots.
Marketmen said the widening of positions by participants, following a pick-up in demand from consuming industries kept zinc prices higher in the futures trade.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for February delivery traded higher by Rs 1.05 or 0.39 per cent at Rs 272.90 per kg with a business turnover of 764 lots.
