Zinc Futures Rise on High Demand in India

Zinc prices in India surged on Wednesday due to increased demand from consuming industries, with futures contracts on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) trading higher.
New Delhi, Feb 12 (PTI) Zinc prices on Wednesday rose Rs 1.20 to Rs 271 per kilogram in the futures trade amid a pick-up in spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for March delivery traded higher by Rs 1.20 or 0.44 per cent at Rs 271 per kg with a business turnover of 676 lots.

Marketmen said the widening of positions by participants, following a pick-up in demand from consuming industries kept zinc prices higher in the futures trade.
