Zinc Futures Rise on High Demand

Zinc prices rose in futures trade on June 2nd, reaching Rs 252.40 per kg due to increased spot demand and widening positions.
New Delhi, Jun 2 (PTI) Zinc prices on Monday rose Rs 1.40 to Rs 252.40 per kilogram in the futures trade amid a pick-up in spot demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for June delivery traded higher by Rs 1.40 or 0.56 per cent to Rs 252.40 per kg with a business turnover of 3,545 lots.
Marketmen said the widening of positions by participants, following a pick-up in demand from consuming industries kept zinc prices higher in the futures trade.
