Zinc Futures Rise on High Demand

Zinc prices increased by Rs 1.25 to Rs 270.95 per kg in futures trade due to higher spot demand and increased positions by participants.
New Delhi, Jul 24 (PTI) Zinc prices on Thursday rose Rs 1.25 to Rs 270.95 per kilogram in futures trade amid a pick-up in spot demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for August delivery traded higher by Rs 1.25 or 0.46 per cent at Rs 270.95 per kg with a business turnover of 3,001 lots.
Marketmen said the widening of positions by participants, following a pick-up in demand from consuming industries, kept zinc prices higher in the futures trade.
