Zinc Futures Rise on High Demand

Zinc prices increased by 70 paise to Rs 269.05 per kg in futures trading due to rising spot demand and increased positions by participants.

New Delhi, Jul 25 (PTI) Zinc prices on Friday rose 70 paise to Rs 269.05 per kilogram in futures trade amid a pick-up in spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for August delivery traded higher 70 paise or 0.26 per cent at Rs 269.05 per kg with a business turnover of 3,166 lots.

Marketmen said the widening of positions by participants, following a pick-up in demand from consuming industries kept zinc prices higher in the futures trade.
