Zinc Futures Surge on Strong Demand - PTI

Zinc prices climbed on the Multi Commodity Exchange due to rising demand from consuming industries. Futures contracts for February delivery gained Rs 1.35, closing at Rs 216.60 per kg.
New Delhi, Feb 8 (PTI) Zinc prices on Thursday rose Rs 1.35 to Rs 216.60 per kilogram in the futures trade amid a pick up in spot demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for February delivery traded higher Rs 1.35 or 0.63 per cent at Rs 216.60 per kg with a business turnover of 4,622 lots.
Marketmen said the widening of positions by participants, following a pick-up in demand from consuming industries kept zinc prices higher in the futures trade.
