BHARTI AIRTEL LTD. - Bharti Airtel Ltd reply to clarification sought by the exchange

The Exchange had sought clarification from Bharti Airtel Ltd with respect to news appearing in The Economic Times on December 22, 2014 titled "Huawei Bags 4G Network Deal from Bharti Airtel."<BR><BR>Bharti Airtel Ltd replied stating "At the outset we note that this is a routine ordinary course of business transaction that does not have a material or a significant impact on the operations of the Company.<BR><BR>Kindly note that Bharti Airtel (Airtel) has a long term strategic partnership with Huawei for network equipment for more than a decade. They serve multiple technologies to Airtel including 2G, 3G and TD-LTE across various circles in India. As part of ongoing business requirements, Airtel has engaged with Huawei for supply of base stations and other equipment for its <BR>FD-LTE network in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu Telecom circles.<BR><BR>In the circumstances, we submit this transaction does not require disclosure under Clause 36 of the Listing Agreement and therefore the details sought by you are not necessitated.<BR><BR>The Company further confirms that it has not released any specific information pertaining to the news report."
