HINDUSTAN ZINC LTD. - Hindustan Zinc Ltd reply to clarification sought by the exchange

The Exchange had sought clarification from Hindustan Zinc Ltd with respect to news appearing in Business Standard on January 12, 2015 titled "HZL, Sesa Sterlite and Cairn India to be merged with the Vedanta Group."<BR><BR>Hindustan Zinc Ltd replied stating "it is to inform that:<BR><BR>a) Company management evaluates various strategies from time to time to create value for shareholders. We further clarify that at this point of time there is no definite proposal for any merger and no such event or negotiations have taken place.<BR><BR>b) If there is any such event which is considered by the Board of Directors of the Company, the Company will make appropriate announcement to the Stock Exchange.<BR><BR>We are committed to fully and responsibly complying with all the requirements of the listing agreement, and to all the regulatory requirements of the Stock Exchange and the appropriate authorities".
