Gold Futures Fall on Low Demand - Prices Decline in India

Gold prices fell in India on Monday, driven by weak global cues and reduced speculator positions. Futures prices dropped Rs 247 to Rs 62,315 per 10 grams on the Multi Commodity Exchange.

New Delhi, Feb 5(PTI) Gold prices on Monday declined Rs 247 to Rs 62,315 per 10 grams in futures trade as speculators reduced their positions.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold contracts for April delivery traded lower Rs 247 or 0.39 per cent at Rs 62,315 per 10 grams in a business turnover of 14,388 lots.

Analysts attributed the fall in gold prices to weak global cues.

Globally, gold was trading 0.59 per cent lower at USD 2,041.60 per ounce in New York.
