Silver Futures Rise on Spot Demand - PTI

Silver prices rose on Thursday due to increased spot demand, with futures contracts on the Multi Commodity Exchange increasing by Rs 4 per kg. Global silver prices also saw gains.
New Delhi, Aug 8 (PTI) Silver prices on Thursday marginally rose Rs 4 to Rs 78,904 per kilogram in futures trade as participants widened their bets on a firm spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver contracts for September delivery increased Rs 4 or 0.01 per cent to Rs 78,904 per kg in 29,727 lots.

Analysts said the rise in silver prices was mainly due to fresh positions built up by participants on a positive domestic trend.

Globally, silver was trading 0.26 per cent higher at USD 26.88 per ounce in New York.
