Silver Futures Rise on Spot Demand - PTI

Silver prices surged in India on Wednesday, fueled by strong spot demand. Futures contracts climbed Rs 587, reaching Rs 71,544 per kg on the Multi Commodity Exchange.
New Delhi, Jan 24 (PTI) Silver prices on Wednesday climbed Rs 587 to Rs 71,544 per kilogram in futures trade as participants widened their bets on a firm spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver contracts for March delivery increased Rs 587, or 0.25 per cent, to Rs 71,544 per kg in 28,403 lots.

Analysts said the rise in silver prices was mainly due to fresh positions built up by participants on a positive domestic trend.

Globally, silver was trading 1.44 per cent higher at USD 22.79 per ounce in New York.
