Silver Futures Rise on Strong Spot Demand - PTI

Silver prices climbed in futures trade on Friday, driven by robust spot demand. The rise was fueled by fresh positions built up by participants on a positive domestic trend. Globally, silver prices also rose.
New Delhi, Jan 19 (PTI) Silver prices on Friday climbed Rs 202 to Rs 71,817 per kilogram in futures trade as participants widened their bets on a firm spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver contracts for March delivery increased Rs 202, or 0.28 per cent, to Rs 71,817 per kg in 27,629 lots.

Analysts said the rise in silver prices was mainly due to fresh positions built up by participants on a positive domestic trend.

Globally, silver was trading 0.61 per cent higher at USD 22.95 per ounce in New York.
