Silver Futures Rise on Strong Spot Demand

Silver prices surged in futures trading on Friday, driven by increased spot demand and positive domestic trends. The rise follows a global uptick in silver prices.
New Delhi, Dec 22 (PTI) Silver prices on Friday rose Rs 339 to Rs 75,765 per kilogram in futures trade as participants widened their bets on a firm spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver contracts for March delivery increased Rs 339 or 0.45 per cent to Rs 75,765 per kg in 15,272 lots.

Analysts said the rise in silver prices was mainly due to fresh positions built up by participants on a positive domestic trend.

Globally, silver was trading 0.63 per cent higher at USD 24.74 per ounce in New York.
