Silver Futures Rise on Strong Spot Demand

Silver prices surged on the Multi Commodity Exchange, driven by robust spot demand and positive domestic trends. Global silver prices also rose.
New Delhi, Apr 4 (PTI) Silver prices on Thursday rose Rs 675 to Rs 79,686 per kilogram in futures trade as participants widened their bets on a firm spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver contracts for May delivery increased Rs 675 or 0.85 per cent to Rs 79,686 per kg in 28,786 lots.

Analysts said the rise in silver prices was mainly due to fresh positions built up by participants on a positive domestic trend.

Globally, silver was trading higher 0.46 per cent at USD 27.19 per ounce in New York.
