Silver Futures Surge on Spot Demand - PTI

Silver futures prices jumped on the Multi Commodity Exchange, fueled by strong spot demand and a positive domestic trend. Globally, silver prices also saw gains.
New Delhi, Aug 2 (PTI) Silver prices on Friday jumped Rs 1,232 to Rs 83,826 per kilogram in futures trade as participants widened their bets on a firm spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver contracts for September delivery increased Rs 1,232 or 1.49 per cent to Rs 83,826 per kg in 25,569 lots.

Analysts said the rise in silver prices was mainly due to fresh positions built up by participants on a positive domestic trend.

Globally, silver was trading 1.87 per cent higher at USD 29.01 per ounce in New York.
