Silver Futures Surge on Spot Demand - PTI

Silver futures prices climbed on the Multi Commodity Exchange, driven by strong spot demand and positive domestic trends. Global silver prices also rose.
New Delhi, Sep 12 (PTI) Silver prices on Thursday jumped Rs 379 to Rs 84,829 per kilogram in futures trade as participants widened their bets on a firm spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver contracts for December delivery increased Rs 379 or 0.45 per cent to Rs 84,829 per kg in 30,156 lots.

Analysts said the rise in silver prices was mainly due to fresh positions built up by participants on a positive domestic trend.

Globally, silver was trading 0.63 per cent higher at USD 29.11 per ounce in New York.
