Silver Futures Surge on Spot Demand - PTI

Silver prices jumped on Thursday in futures trade due to strong spot demand, driven by positive domestic trends. Globally, silver prices also rose in New York.
New Delhi, Jan 4 (PTI) Silver prices on Thursday jumped Rs 63 to Rs 72,396 per kilogram in futures trade as participants widened their bets on a firm spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver contracts for March delivery increased Rs 63, or 0.09 per cent, to Rs 72,396 per kg in 21,828 lots.

Analysts said the rise in silver prices was mainly due to fresh positions built up by participants on a positive domestic trend.

Globally, silver was trading 0.21 per cent higher at USD 23.21 per ounce in New York.
