Silver Futures Surge on Spot Demand - PTI

New Delhi, Jan 29 (PTI) Silver prices on Monday jumped Rs 422 to Rs 72,195 per kilogram in futures trade as participants widened their bets on a firm spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver contracts for March delivery increased Rs 422, or 0.59 per cent, to Rs 72,195 per kg in 25,445 lots.

Analysts said the rise in silver prices was mainly due to fresh positions built up by participants on a positive domestic trend.

Globally, silver was trading 1 per cent higher at USD 23.10 per ounce in New York.
