Silver Futures Surge on Spot Demand - PTI

Silver prices jumped in futures trade today on increased spot demand, according to the Press Trust of India. Analysts attribute the rise to positive domestic trends.
New Delhi, Feb 29 (PTI) Silver prices on Thursday rose Rs 697 to Rs 69,400 per kilogram in futures trade as participants widened their bets on a firm spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver contracts for March delivery increased Rs 697, or 1.01 per cent, to Rs 69,400 per kg in 561 lots.

Analysts said the rise in silver prices was mainly due to fresh positions built up by participants on a positive domestic trend.

Globally, silver was trading 0.26 per cent higher at USD 22.70 per ounce in New York.
