Silver Futures Surge on Spot Demand

Silver futures prices jumped on Thursday due to increased spot demand, driven by positive domestic trends and global market gains.
New Delhi, Jul 11 (PTI) Silver prices on Thursday jumped Rs 616 to Rs 93,448 per kilogram in futures trade as participants widened their bets on a firm spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver contracts for September delivery increased Rs 616 or 0.66 per cent to Rs 93,448 per kg in 23,587 lots.

Analysts said the rise in silver prices was mainly due to fresh positions built up by participants on a positive domestic trend.

Globally, silver was trading 0.87 per cent higher at USD 31.05 per ounce in New York.
