Silver Futures Surge on Spot Demand

Silver futures prices climbed on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) due to strong spot demand and positive domestic trends. Global silver prices also saw an increase.
New Delhi, Apr 2 (PTI) Silver prices on Tuesday rose Rs 775 to Rs 76,307 per kilogram in futures trade as participants widened their bets on a firm spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver contracts for May delivery increased Rs 775 or 1.03 per cent to Rs 76,307 per kg in 24,702 lots.

Analysts said the rise in silver prices was mainly due to fresh positions built up by participants on a positive domestic trend.

Globally, silver was trading higher by 1.86 per cent at USD 25.54 per ounce in New York.
