Silver Futures Surge on Spot Demand

Silver futures prices rose on Monday due to increased spot demand, driven by positive domestic trends. Global silver prices also saw an uptick.
New Delhi, Apr 15 (PTI) Silver prices on Monday jumped Rs 604 to Rs 83,417 per kilogram in futures trade as participants widened their bets on a firm spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver contracts for May delivery increased Rs 604 or 0.73 per cent to Rs 83,417 per kg in 25,744 lots.

Analysts said the rise in silver prices was mainly due to fresh positions built up by participants on a positive domestic trend.

Globally, silver was trading higher 0.05 per cent at USD 28.35 per ounce in New York.
