Silver Futures Surge on Strong Demand: Prices Jump to Rs 81,225/kg

Silver futures prices jumped on Monday due to strong spot demand. The rise was attributed to positive domestic trends and global silver prices trading higher in New York.
New Delhi, Aug 12 (PTI) Silver prices on Monday jumped Rs 682 to Rs 81,225 per kilogram in futures trade as participants widened their bets on a firm spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver contracts for September delivery increased Rs 682 or 0.85 per cent to Rs 81,225 per kg in 28,366 lots.

Analysts said the rise in silver prices was mainly due to fresh positions built up by participants on a positive domestic trend.

Globally, silver was trading 0.80 per cent higher at USD 27.81 per ounce in New York.
