Silver futures rise on spot demand

Silver prices climbed Rs 1,400 to Rs 90,875 per kg on the Multi Commodity Exchange, fueled by robust spot demand and positive domestic trends.
New Delhi, Jun 20 (PTI) Silver prices on Thursday rose Rs 1,400 to Rs 90,875 per kilogram in futures trade as participants widened their bets on a firm spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver contracts for July delivery increased Rs 1,400 or 1.56 per cent, to Rs 90,875 per kg in 18,681 lots.

Analysts said the rise in silver prices was mainly due to fresh positions built up by participants on a positive domestic trend.

Globally, silver was trading 2.85 per cent higher at USD 30.68 per ounce in New York.
