Silver prices climbed in India on Friday, driven by increased spot demand and positive domestic trends. Global silver prices, however, saw a decline.
New Delhi, Jul 12 (PTI) Silver prices on Friday jumped Rs 1,180 to Rs 93,010 per kilogram in futures trade as participants widened their bets on a firm spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver contracts for September delivery increased Rs 1,180 or 1.25 per cent to Rs 93,010 per kg in 23,278 lots.

Analysts said the rise in silver prices was mainly due to fresh positions built up by participants on a positive domestic trend.

Globally, silver was trading 2.21 per cent lower at USD 30.97 per ounce in New York.
