Silver Futures Surge on Strong Spot Demand - PTI

Silver prices jumped on Friday, driven by increased spot demand. Futures contracts rose on the Multi Commodity Exchange, tracking a positive domestic trend.
New Delhi, Jan 12 (PTI) Silver prices on Friday jumped Rs 574 to Rs 71,928 per kilogram in futures trade as participants widened their bets on a firm spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver contracts for March delivery increased Rs 574, or 0.8 per cent, to Rs 71,928 per kg in 26,332 lots.

Analysts said the rise in silver prices was mainly due to fresh positions built up by participants on a positive domestic trend.

Globally, silver was trading 1.72 per cent higher at USD 23.10 per ounce in New York.
