Silver Futures Surge on Strong Spot Demand

Silver prices rose on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) due to increased spot demand and positive domestic trends. Global silver prices also saw gains.
New Delhi, Dec 8 (PTI) Silver prices on Friday rose Rs 228 to Rs 74,541 per kilogram in futures trade as participants widened their bets on a firm spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver contracts for March delivery increased Rs 228 or 0.31 per cent to Rs 74,541 per kg in 14,166 lots.

Analysts said the rise in silver prices was mainly due to fresh positions built up by participants on a positive domestic trend.

Globally, silver was trading 0.30 per cent higher at USD 24.13 per ounce in New York.
