Chennai, Jul 15 (PTI) Deep-tech robotics company Unibose Technology Pvt Ltd raised Rs 5.5 crore in a 'pre-series A round' to scale up operations across the country.

The fundraise was led by O2 Angels, with participation from IN44 Capital, Coimbatore Innovation and Business Incubator, and other strategic angel investors.

The latest capital infusion follows the Rs 2.5 crore raised earlier from StartupTN, a Tamil Nadu government-backed initiative, Unibose said in a company statement on Tuesday.

Commenting on the development, Unibose Founder and CEO Manikandan Dakshinamoorthy said, "With this funding, we are set to scale across India, the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council countries), and Southeast Asia, strengthen research and development in AI-based inspection and compliance tools, and build a strong OEM and partner ecosystem."

On the investment, O2 Angels Co-founder Rajesh Ranjan said, "We backed Unibose for their unmatched technical depth and the scalability of their robotics platform."

"They are a true example of what Indian engineering can achieve on the global stage," Ranjan added.

Operating on a Robotics-as-a-Service model, Unibose Technology enables industries to access life-saving automation without upfront investment, driving adoption across sectors including oil and gas, chemicals, fertilisers, and heavy industries.

IN44 Capital Partner Sathish Ganesan said, "Unibose has built an extremely relevant solution for high-risk industries. Their certified robots are already market-ready, and we are excited to support them in scaling globally.
