Zinc Futures Rise on Strong Demand

Zinc prices surged on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) due to increased demand from consuming industries. January contracts rose by 0.39% to Rs 229.85 per kg.
New Delhi, Dec 26 (PTI) Zinc prices on Tuesday rose 90 paise to Rs 229.85 per kilogram in the futures trade amid a pick up in spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for January delivery traded higher by 90 paise or 0.39 per cent at Rs 229.85 per kg with a business turnover of 4,693 lots.

Marketmen said the widening of positions by participants, following a pick-up in demand from consuming industries kept zinc prices higher in the futures trade.
