Zinc Futures Surge on High Demand

Zinc prices rose in India's futures market on Friday due to increased demand from consuming industries.
New Delhi, Apr 19 (PTI) Zinc prices on Friday rose Rs 2.25 to Rs 249.80 per kilogram in the futures trade amid a pick up in spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for April delivery traded higher Rs 2.25 or 0.91 per cent at Rs 249.80 per kg with a business turnover of 2,370 lots.

Marketmen said the widening of positions by participants, following a pick-up in demand from consuming industries kept zinc prices higher in the futures trade.
