Zinc Futures Surge on Strong Demand

Zinc prices rose in India's futures market on February 27th, driven by increased demand from consuming industries.
New Delhi, Feb 27 (PTI) Zinc prices on Tuesday rose Rs 1.30 to Rs 215.85 per kilogram in the futures trade amid a pick up in spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for March delivery traded higher Rs 1.30 or 0.61 per cent at Rs 215.85 per kg with a business turnover of 4,637 lots.

Marketmen said the widening of positions by participants, following a pick-up in demand from consuming industries kept zinc prices higher in the futures trade.
