Zinc Futures Surge on Strong Demand

Zinc prices rose in the futures market on April 4th due to increased demand from consuming industries. The Multi Commodity Exchange saw a rise in trading activity.
New Delhi, Apr 4 (PTI) Zinc prices on Thursday rose Rs 3.35 to Rs 228.20 per kilogram in the futures trade amid a pick up in spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for April delivery traded higher Rs 3.35 or 1.49 per cent at Rs 228.20 per kg with a business turnover of 3,387 lots.

Marketmen said the widening of positions by participants, following a pick-up in demand from consuming industries kept zinc prices higher in the futures trade.
