Silver Futures Surge on Spot Demand

Silver prices rose in futures trade on Tuesday due to strong spot demand. The rise was attributed to fresh positions built up by participants on a positive domestic trend.
New Delhi, Sep 24 (PTI) Silver prices on Tuesday rose Rs 386 to Rs 89,617 per kilogram in futures trade as participants widened their bets on a firm spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver contracts for December delivery increased Rs 386 or 0.43 per cent to Rs 89,617 per kg in 24,768 lots.

Analysts said the rise in silver prices was mainly due to fresh positions built up by participants on a positive domestic trend.

Globally, silver was trading 0.37 per cent higher at USD 31.20 per ounce in New York.
