Copper Futures Slip on Muted Demand in India

Copper futures on the Multi Commodity Exchange fell on Friday due to muted demand in the domestic market, with analysts citing trimming of positions by speculators as a key factor.
New Delhi, Jan 5 (PTI) Copper futures on Friday fell 85 pasie to Rs 724.10 per kilogram as participants cut their positions amid a muted demand in the domestic market.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper contracts for January delivery eased by 85 paise or 0.12 per cent to Rs 724.10 per kg in a business turnover of 5,452 lots.

Analysts said trimming of positions by speculators amid a muted demand in the spot market mainly dragged down copper prices in the futures trade.
