Crude Oil Futures Rise on Spot Demand - PTI

Crude oil futures on the Multi Commodity Exchange gained Rs 96 to Rs 6,388 per barrel, driven by increased demand. Global oil prices also rose.

New Delhi, Jul 31 (PTI) Crude oil prices on Wednesday increased Rs 96 to Rs 6,388 per barrel in futures trade as participants widened their positions following a firm spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for August delivery traded higher Rs 96 or 1.53 per cent at Rs 6,388 per barrel in 12,030 lots.

Analysts said raising of bets by participants kept crude oil prices higher in futures trade.

Globally, West Texas Intermediate crude oil was up by 2.05 per cent to USD 76.26 per barrel, and Brent crude traded 1.76 per cent higher at USD 80.01 per barrel in New York.
