Crude Oil Futures Rise on Spot Demand

Crude oil futures prices climbed on Tuesday due to increased spot demand, with the MCX May contract trading higher at Rs 6,613 per barrel. Global oil prices saw mixed trends.

New Delhi, May 14 (PTI) Crude oil prices on Tuesday climbed Rs 19 to Rs 6,613 per barrel in futures trade as participants widened their positions following a firm spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for May delivery traded higher Rs 19 or 0.29 per cent at Rs 6,613 per barrel in 6,425 lots.

Analysts said raising of bets by participants kept crude oil prices higher in futures trade.

Globally, West Texas Intermediate crude oil was down 0.03 per cent to USD 79.10 per barrel, and Brent crude traded 0.07 per cent higher at USD 83.30 per barrel in New York.
