Guar Gum Futures Plunge on Weak Demand

Guar gum futures prices fell on Monday due to weak demand and ample supply in the spot market. Traders offloaded their holdings, leading to a decline of Rs 173 per five quintals.
New Delhi, Jan 1 (PTI) Guar gum prices on Monday dropped Rs 173 to Rs 10,858 per five quintals in the futures market as traders offloaded their holdings in line with a weak trend in the spot market.
On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guar gum for January delivery fell Rs 173 or 1.59 per cent to Rs 10,858 per five quintals in 33,050 lots.
Marketmen said slackness in demand in the spot market and ample supplies from growing regions put pressure on guar gum prices.
