Silver Futures Rise on Spot Demand

Silver prices surged in futures trading on Monday, fueled by increased demand. On the MCX, December silver contracts rose by 0.59% to Rs 89,702 per kg. Globally, silver prices also climbed, trading 0.29% higher at USD 31.17 per ounce.

New Delhi, Sep 16 (PTI) Silver prices on Monday rose Rs 522 to Rs 89,702 per kilogram in futures trade as participants widened their bets on a firm spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver contracts for December delivery increased Rs 522 or 0.59 per cent to Rs 89,702 per kg in 26,177 lots.

Analysts said the rise in silver prices was mainly due to fresh positions built up by participants on a positive domestic trend.

Globally, silver was trading 0.29 per cent higher at USD 31.17 per ounce in New York.
