Silver Futures Rise on Strong Spot Demand - PTI

Silver prices surged on the Multi Commodity Exchange due to strong spot demand, with March contracts rising to Rs 75,010 per kg. Global silver prices also saw gains.
New Delhi, Dec 20 (PTI) Silver prices on Wednesday rose Rs 186 to Rs 75,010 per kilogram in futures trade as participants widened their bets on a firm spot demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver contracts for March delivery increased Rs 186 or 0.25 per cent to Rs 75,010 per kg in 14,120 lots.
Analysts said the rise in silver prices was mainly due to fresh positions built up by participants on a positive domestic trend.
Globally, silver was trading 0.88 per cent higher at USD 24.41 per ounce in New York.
