Silver futures prices rose on Friday due to increased spot demand, with analysts attributing the surge to positive domestic trends. Global silver prices were down.

New Delhi, Jun 28 (PTI) Silver prices on Friday rose Rs 462 to Rs 87,510 per kilogram in futures trade as participants widened their bets on a firm spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver contracts for July delivery increased Rs 462 or 0.53 per cent to Rs 87,510 per kg in 9,252 lots.

Analysts said the rise in silver prices was mainly due to fresh positions built up by participants on a positive domestic trend.

Globally, silver was trading 0.92 per cent lower at USD 29.53 per ounce in New York.
