Zinc prices fell on Monday due to reduced speculator interest and weak demand from consuming industries. The Multi Commodity Exchange saw a 0.74% drop in July contracts.
New Delhi, Jul 8 (PTI) Zinc prices on Monday fell 0.74 per cent to Rs 273.60 per kilogram in the futures trade as speculators reduced their exposure, tracking negative cues from the spot market.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for July delivery traded Rs 2.05 or 0.74 per cent lower at Rs 273.60 per kg in 2,604 lots.
Analysts said trimming of positions by participants owing to slackened demand from consuming industries in the physical market mainly weighed on zinc prices.
