Zinc prices fell 1.01% to Rs 255.60 per kg in futures trade on Thursday, driven by reduced speculator exposure and weak spot market demand.
New Delhi, May 9 (PTI) Zinc prices on Thursday fell 1.01 per cent to Rs 255.60 per kilogram in the futures trade as speculators reduced their exposure, taking negative cues from the spot market.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for May delivery traded lower Rs 2.60 or 1.01 per cent at Rs 255.60 per kg in 3,493 lots.
Analysts said trimming of positions by participants owing to slackened demand from consuming industries in the physical market mainly weighed on zinc prices.
