Zinc Futures Drop on Weak Demand
By Rediff Money Desk, New Delhi Aug 05, 2024 14:23
Zinc prices fell on the Multi Commodity Exchange due to reduced demand from consuming industries and negative cues from the spot market.
New Delhi, Aug 5 (PTI) Zinc prices on Monday fell 0.88 per cent to Rs 249.15 per kilogram in the futures trade as speculators reduced their exposure, tracking negative cues from the spot market.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for August delivery traded Rs 2.20 or 0.88 per cent lower at Rs 249.15 per kg in 1,965 lots.
Analysts said trimming of positions by participants owing to slackened demand from consuming industries in the physical market mainly weighed on zinc prices.
