Zinc prices surged in India's futures market on Friday due to strong demand from consuming industries. The rise was attributed to increased trading activity and positive sentiment.
New Delhi, Jan 24 (PTI) Zinc prices on Friday rose Rs 2.45 to Rs 274.05 per kilogram in the futures trade amid a pick-up in spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for February delivery traded higher by Rs 2.45 or 0.9 per cent at Rs 274.05 per kg with a business turnover of 2,148 lots.

Marketmen said the widening of positions by participants, following a pick-up in demand from consuming industries kept zinc prices higher in the futures trade.
